Solar Plexus Opening

Many people find that their solar plexus is tight from stress or emotional duress. Practice consciously releasing the upper abdominal area as you go about your day. Continually keep this area relaxed. When the solar plexus is blocked there is a disconnect between feeling and thinking. To be an integrated well balanced person in all areas of our lives it is very important to have the solar plexus open.

Drinking coffee will often keep the solar plexus tight, as will every form of stress. The solar plexus is where we "take in." It's the causeway between our "higher," and "lower," selves. The solar plexus also relates to our sense of rhythm. It's been called the Moving Center and also the Third Brain. The solar plexus is the hub of the nervous system.

Here is a quick set to open the solar plexus: sit on your heels and flex your spine, inhale forward and exhale back 1 - 3 min. Immediately come into a front push-up position with the toes not curled under, eyes open looking straight ahead, Long Deep Breathing 1 min. Then immediately repeat the spine flex exercise sitting on your heels 1 -3 min. Then practice any Kundalini Yoga Meditation.

It's very important to remember that when areas that have been blocked begin to open, sometimes we can feel a little resistance as old habits and perspectives "die hard."

By all means stay within your comfort zone (Breath of Fire should be very relaxed and rhythmic, if this is not possible substitute Long Deep Breathing) but know that there is no place left to go but onward and upward!
