Pins and Needles Felt During Yoga Poses

We believe that a "pins and needles," sensation felt in the arms during poses such as Bridge Pose is circulation being restimulated through the upper back and shoulders and pelvis to the arms and legs. Sometimes when our Peripheral nervous system receives more oxygen than they'be been accustomed to, you can experience this phenomena. So, what you are experiencing in your yoga practice is actually a good sign.

If the tingling sensation is very uncomfortable you do not need to stay in the pose as long as the times given. You can build up gradually as the pins and needles subside.

Obviously, there are other possible causes for this condition, and if it persists it is very important that you immediately seek the advice of a physician.
