Ganpati Kriya: to make the impossible possible
It took us some time to really appreciate this meditation because it's so simple, but our experience with it is yet again proof that the Saints and Sages of the ages were indeed pure conduits for the Universe itself. This meditation is for positivity and flow. It's called Ganpati Kriya and is a very sacred and special meditation. "Ganpati" is a variation of Ganesha who rode on the back of a rat or mouse which could penetrate into or around anything. For that reason this is called the impossible made possible kriya, where all negatives from the past and present are resolved and redeemed.
Ganpati is sometimes called "mangalam" - the God of Happiness.
This meditation deals with samskaras, karma. and dharma. It is said to remove old karma (habit energy) and paves the way for dharma (harmonious and inspired action).
When we're feeling backed into a corner, with seemingly no way out, in our work, relationship, etc., this is the meditation to do.
This tunes this energy strings of the Universe so that positive outcomes manifest to us and through us.
The mantra is Sa-Ta-Na-Ma-Ra-Ma-Da-Sa-Sa-Say-So-Hung.
This means: Existence, Life, Transformation, Rebirth, Sun, Moon, Earth, Infinity, I am that Infinity, I belong to and contain.
The focus of the eyes is 1/10 open looking down and in towards the tip of the nose.
As you chant Sa: Press the thumb to the index finger. (Jupiter)
Ta: Press the thumb to the second finger. (Saturn)
Na: Press the thumb to the ring finger. (Sun)
Ma: Press the thumb to the baby finger. (Mercury)
Ra: Press the thumb to the index finger.
Ma: Press the thumb to the second finger.
Da: Press the thumb to the ring finger.
Sa: Press the thumb to the baby finger.
Sa: Press the thumb to the index finger.
Say: Press the thumb to the second finger.
So: Press the thumb to the ring finger.
Hung: Press the thumb to the baby finger.
Continue chanting as you move your fingers in this way for 11 min. - 22 min.
At the end of the meditation, inhale and as you hold the breath dance your upper body free form while maintaining isometric tension in your muscles. The idea is to circulate energy to every part of your body. The breath is held in approx. 15-25 seconds. Repeat this procedure with the breath held in 4 times total. Last step: Inhale, sit calmly, and concentrate on the tip of your nose for 30 seconds with long light breathing.
We do this mantra twice per breath. You can chant this in any melody or in a monotone. It is also good to pull your navel in to accent every fourth syllable. When we invoke the Navel Chakra while chanting a mantra it renders that practice exponentially more powerful.
